All window fields and button change to "Not Found'

Posted on by 1,582

Any ideas how this could happen? I am told the user closes the window and re-opens it and then it is fine. Client is on a hosted environment where GP accessed via terminal services.

Chad as Leslie points out this would happen first if a dictionary that was referenced by this window were not available to the user.

While I agree that the Payables Transaction entry is a CORE window and therefore by default in the Dynamics.dic - I would ask if there are any 3rd Party applications related to Payables OR to the General Ledger that might only be partly activated.

It might be a matter of 'to limited' security on the 3rd Party.

Pretty sure it is not data, as the data for the window populates so running maintenance on the data records will not do much.

Just suggestions, see what works, let me know.

    Hi Chad,

You might have tried this already but just in case not, run the utilities and check links against payables.

Thanks for the information, Leslie. I am going to keep this question unanswered for a short time to see what else the community might offer.

    Hi Chad,

Not that this helps, but this is what a window would look like that used resources from a dictionary that was not loaded. For example, if I were to open a third party dictionary using Dexterity, any of the global GP objects would not be included in that extracted dictionary, so they would display [Not Found].

Of course the Payables Distribution window is part of the core dictionary, so how can this be? Something is causing the window to not be able to 'see' those resources. Like I said, not helpful, but it does describe what [Not Found] is telling you. It can't find the resource.

Odd to be sure, but I have seen it happen in the same environment. Eventually, it went away and none of my clients ever wanted to invest in finding out what was going on. Hopefully, someone will jump on this and we'll all finally know the solution.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
