I am doing an inquiry on a journal entry that is listed in the GL side of my reconcile to gl. There are two of them listed. When I go to inquiry/financial/journal entry inquiry and enter the journal entry # a window posp up and reads: The journal entry number you've entered doesn't exist, hasn't been posted or is in history. Enter or select a valid journal entyr number.

I looked to see if I had anything unposted that may cause the problem and found nothing unposted. It obviously existed since the report listed the journal entry number. How do theyget in history, if that is the case, and how do I find them?

Hi Nancy.

When you execute the Year End Routine in Financials it moves all open year entries to the historical files.

You can find the entries using Smartlist - with Financial - Account Transactions.

You can add the column Historical Year - and it will display to which fiscal year the transaction belongs to.

You can also use the Financial Report - Cross Reference - Journal Entry option.

Select History and the year you are looking for.
