Reconciled Bank Account Ledger Entries Show as Outstanding

While working on our current month's bank reconciliation I noticed previously reconciled bank account ledger entries now show as outstanding. When I go back to the previous month's Bank Account Statement via the Bank Card it still shows as posted, but when I click on the blue Applied Amount hyperlinks it shows as blank.

We subsequently created a test company with our current company's data in order to try and figure how to get rid of the outstanding payments. We tried Undoing the previous month's bank rec and reposting, but when doing so the Bank Statement Lines on the left hand side show as applied but when I click on the Applied Amount hyperlink it shows as empty. I tried Removing the Match of the Bank Statement Lines, but it still shows as applied. To add to this, the Outstanding Bank Account Ledger entries on the right-hand side show as Open, but the Remaining Amounts all show as zero. Has anyone else had this issue before? Any recommendations on how to get rid of the Outstanding Payments and correct the bank rec are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

    Anthony,

What version of BC are you on? Country and version? I have never heard of this before and looked at my Cronus Sandbox to try to recreate and not possible. My posted Bank reconciliations are set and applied/cleared. Do you recall any changes to BC from a customization that could have effected bank transactions? Have you tried to Undo the Bank Reconciliation Statement from the previous month and start over? In the Posted Bank Reconciliation you can use Undo action on the Bank Acc. Statement. Entries will be moved back to the Bank Reconciliation page and marked as Open. You can now reconcile the previous month.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steven,

Thank you for the reply. We are using Dynamics 365 Business Central Online in the United States, I am unsure of the version. I don't know of any changes to BC that could have changed previously applied bank recs, I was under the same assumption that they couldn't be changed. We did undo the Bank Recon Statement in an attempt to repost it and that's where we came across the issue of Bank Statement Lines showing as "Applied" although they are not applied to any entries on the Bank Ledger Entries side.

I created Manual entries for $0.00 on the left hand side of the bank rec under the Bank Statement Lines in an attempt to clear out the outstanding Bank Ledger Entries on the right hand side, which also show as having a $0.00 Remaining Amount. I then ran a Bank Acct Rec Test Report and it shows errors on the Outstanding Entries saying the applied amount must be equal to the original payment amount, even though on the Bank Rec screen it showed as having a $0.00 Remaining Amount.

I am considering deleting this bank rec but am nervous it would affect prior period financials. Any experience with deleting a bank rec?

    Thank you!

    Anthony,

I have performed Undo and yes deleted the Bank Reconciliation before. I felt like just starting over. This clears any clearing that are checked and you should have a fresh start when you create a new Bank Reconciliation and run Suggest Lines.

    Very strange.

    Thanks,

    Steve
