Re Order Damaged Inventory

Hello everyone.

Lately I have been working with dynamics and testing the functionalities and came across a question.

When posting a purchase order and then when receiving the inventory, lets say that there's some of the pcs that are damaged. Is it possible when creating a return of those pcs, automatically reorder them again?

Thank you,

Claudio Costa

    Claudio,

Unfortunately on the Purchase Order side it doesn't create another PO automatically.  You may have seen a similar capability on the Sales Return Order side, which can create another Sales Order, the Vendor Return Order and a Purchase Order.

However, if you notice you received a damaged or wrong item you can transfer it into a Return or Quarantine Location which will reduce the supply in your usable Location.  This could trigger a replenishment order through MRP depending on the Item's Policy and Parameters.

If you don't have separate Locations, you could process the shipment on the Purchase Return Order which will also reduce your supply in the usable Location.

    Hope this helps!
