Office 365 Integration with GP 2013?

Posted on by 180

Does anyone possess any specific knowledge about Microsoft Office 365 integration with GP 2013?  I've found a few comments anticipating this integration.  Also, there is mention of using Microsoft Office 365 and want to deploy Excel reports to a reports library in SharePoint Online 2010 in GP 2013 manuals.  However, Office 365 does not appear as a supported product [yet?].

Thanks.

Yes.  Found out that even though the documentation says 64bit is required for Outlook when using 2013 with the Cloud, it really needs the 32bit version.

    We got it to work

    Hi Terry,

Are you running into a specific issue?

Now that 2013 has been released for awhile, I am trying to find out if there is a way to make 2013 work with Office 365 when GP is on a hosted solution.

Haven't had much luck in my searches so hopefully you can provide some insight

Thank you for the update Stan. As the System Requirements page states they are subject to change. Unfortunately as I noted GP 2013 is not released yet we do not have anything confirmed. I would recommend you check back after GP 2013 is released as documentation will be finalized then.

    Jonathan:

I do not have a copy of GP 2013—my question is derived from print available for download from Microsoft.

I’ve reviewed the GP 2013 System Requirements available on CustomerSource.  Office 365 is not included as a supported versions of Office.

I’ve also excerpted the following from GP 2013 PDF manuals available\downloaded from Microsoft.

    Page 211, System Setup guide:

“If you are using Microsoft Office 365 and want to deploy Excel reports to a reports library in SharePoint Online 2010, mark Using SharePoint Online option. This option is available if you selected SharePoint as the location to deploy reports to.”

Page 39, Desktop Client Installation guide:

“If you have selected SharePoint as the location to deploy reports to, you can mark the Using SharePoint Online option if you are using Microsoft Office 365 and want to deploy Excel reports to a reports library in SharePoint Online 2010.”

As close as we are to the actual release it seems reasonable to inquire about the extend or nature of integration GP 2013 has with Office 365.  And to rely, even somewhat, on concrete information published by Microsoft.  This is a critical question for us as we are evaluating plans to migrate in full to Office 365.

    Thanks,

    Stan

GP 2013 has not even been released yet. Therefore there are no confirmed system requirements or what is supported. Can I ask how you received a copy of GP 2013?
