Getting error while importing CSV file using DIEF "Package execution failed please check event log in DMF service box"

Posted on by

Hi All,

Getting the below error while clicking "Preview source file" in DIEF , we are able to "validate" successful and able to "Generate source file" .

"Package execution failed please check event log in DMF service box

For additional warnings or errors, please check the log"

Event log error :

"DMF043

at Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Framework.Tools.DMF.SSISHelper.DMFEntity.ShowPreview(Boolean isComposite)
at Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.Framework.Tools.DMF.SSISHelperService.Service.ServiceHelper.ShowPreview(DMFEntity entity)"

We have gone through all available links but those are for Excel file, as we do not have Office installed , we are using CSV format.

Please advise us how to resolve this issue.

    Hi Akbar,

This happened to me when I left one of the mandatory fields empty.

My case was with Customers entity, and DMF was forcing CountryRegionId to be filled  which is not mandatory when done through UI.

My recommendation would be to create one of the records manually, then export it to a csv file through DMF and compare it to your file.

Using this approach always gave me an idea.

    Thanks Tom,

If we remove the comma , then how how we can separate the field values in CSV file , do we need to us "|" character in place of ",".

    Please advise.

    Regards,

    Akbar

    Hi Akbarpasha,

There is a link for csv file:community.dynamics.com/.../196977

This case says remove the commas can resolve this problem.

    Best Regards
