Auditbase SQL or alternative

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi Everyone,

I have to find out how many times our users have changed the first name and/or last name of Contact records.

I've tried to use the Auditbase table combined with the actions, operation and attributemask, but I'm finding it's either one or none.

What I mean is, I'm only returning results where the first and last name have been updated as part of a larger update to the record.

Any help would be appreciated.

There is a script that can convert audit table to a more "readable" format:

    community.dynamics.com/.../crm-2011-get-audited-attributes-from-auditbase-table

Then you can probably just run a query on the results..

(or, maybe, you can use it to figure out how to run the query directly on the AuditBase)

    Hi Bodders,

the best approach is using Audit.

In the past, I developed a solution to save user change in a record.

Just create a plugin which saves in a new entity (we named something like "My Entity Changes") firstname, lastname, datetime and systemuser each time firstname or lastname change and ... you are done!

    Hope it helps!
