3 rd integration for business central

Posted on by 6

We are integrating a third-party system with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to create sales orders. Given the large volume of sales order data that needs to be processed daily, which often causes performance issues, we are considering two options:

  1. Creating sales orders directly via the Business Central API.
  2. Using a staging table where sales order data is initially stored and then processed in batches using a Codeunit for sales order creation.

Which of these options would be more suitable for efficiently handling a high volume of sales orders, and what best practices can be recommended to optimize performance for the selected method?

    Hi Janarthanan,
    You can do either option.
With business central 24 and higher Microsoft have increased limit of API Request. Pre-Business Central 24, there is a limit of parallel request per environment, but with business central 24 and higher the limit is exceeded and moved from environment to user.
So, you can technically make API request directly to Sales order with Business central 24 and higher.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
