Auto restrict customer record upon creation of customer

Hello,

We would need new customer records to be approved by Sales Manager before Quote/Orders can be posted for the new customer. I created a workflow based on New Customer Workflow template. But, the event that trigger this workflow is upon user clicking on the Request for Approval button in the Customer Maintenance window. We have users that create a new customer but did not click on the Request for Approval and thus Invoices can be created and posted without any restriction. Is there anyway i can easily setup the system to auto restrict new customer created?

I did went through MS guidebook but the advise is to create new Workflow event and response. I am not a programmer and has limited knowledge on how to do that.

Can i use MS Flow to auto trigger such an event to happen?

Thanking in advance for all advise and suggestions.

Yes you can use Flow to automatically send an approval request when a Customer is created, but I think that this will not block a user to create an order or an invoice on this new customer.

For that, you need a check (for example a simple extension that avoids to change the customer status if not approved or to select a not approved customer in a document). This can be a check in an eventsubscriber (very very easy).

    Hi ,

Is there a way to hide the 'New' action on the Customer page based on a role ?
