When I create a procedure in codeunit that returns records then it disappears from the $metadata. If I change the return type to simple such as boolean then it re-appears in $metadata. Anyone familiar with this pls advise?

You can not return record in a procedure to consume it as WS or API. Why do not you convert these records into an JsonArray and return it as a text?
I am not an expert at web services, but perhaps it would be easier to use a page for this kind of web service?
Hello - We currently do not have dedicated Dev support via the Dynamics 365 Business Central forums, but I wanted to provide you some additional resources to assist. If you need assistance with debugging or coding I would recommend discussing this on one of our communities.
I will open this up to the community in case they have something to add.
