Open page in view mode by default: NAV 15

Hi,

I need to amend our Item card so that it opens in view mode by default in Dynamics NAV2015. As a super user rather than developer, my preference is to do this within configuration mode but this is not essential.

I have found the linked article here https://community.dynamics.com/nav/b/navvanvugts/archive/2010/05/11/how-to-set-view-mode-on-pages-as-default

but this is a little outdated.

Does anybody have a solution that would work from within configuration mode? Or an updated solution similar to the article?

Thanks,

Guy

    I followed the post from

    https://dynamicsuser.net/nav/b/vanvugt/posts/how-to-set-view-mode-on-pages-as-default

    Instead of using Ctrl + Shift + V use Ctrl + Shift + R (Read Only Mode)

    Declare WshShell as Automation Variable for 'Windows Script Host Object Model'.WshShell
    In OnOpenPage Trigger:

    IF ISCLEAR(WshShell) THEN
      CREATE(WshShell,FALSE,TRUE);
    WshShell.SendKeys('^+R');//Ctrl+Shift+R

    Note: I am working on NAV17

    What's the status now? are we still waiting for it in NAV 2017/18?

    Hi Guy, totally right: outdated. I am (actually we are) still waiting for Microsoft to add this to the platform by means of a C/AL function.
