Confirmed Ship-date

Posted on by 2,565

Dear All,

I have a Sales Order Of Type Journal. I updated the Requested Ship-date & Confirmed Ship-date on each item line. Then I change the order type to Sales Order, it is asked if I want to update the dates, both option Yes or No will cause the Confirm Ship-date to be lost in the Sales Order.

This means no matter which dates are there on the Confirmed Ship-date on the item lines, they will be deleted once the order type of the Sales Order changed. Only the Requested Ship-date still remain.

Is there any hint here to keep the dates when we change the order type? Thank you!

    Hi

Doing this in R3 the confirmed ship date remains.

    Tks Lee!

Can you try like this: create a Sales Order of Type Journal, add the confirmed ship-date in one item line. Then change its order type to Sales Order to see if the confirmed ship-date on each item line is kept or not.

    RE: Confirmed Ship-date

    Dear Andre,

We just want to separate Sales Order Of Type Journal and Confirmed Sales Orders. We are thinking about using Sales Order Of Type Journal as a Placed SO, and once it is confirmed with confirmed ship-date, we will change type order to Sales Order. At that time the quantity on SO will be counting in On-hand screen.

I am not sure if this is the correct use of SO of Type Journal. But the problem is: The Confirmed Ship-date on the SO Header is kept after changing the order type, but not the confirmed ship-date on the line details.

    Hi Paul,

I tried a few times and don't see the behavior you mentioned. Do you know if there's any modification done?

FYI, the "Updating ship and receipt dates" option should only applies when you changed the header date fields. In my environment (AX2012 R2 CU7), when changing the order type from Journal to Sales Order the update dialog box is not triggered.

    Hi Paul,

The setup form in your question is used when specific fields on the header are changed. When changing the order type also other logic is used.

There is no setting to remain the dates in this case.

Can you tell the reason and desired process of using the order type 'journal'? Is it possible to directly start with the type 'sales order'?

Otherwise you might need a small customization.
