Hi there,
I have a quick question about marketing List in a form capture mapping.
On a "normal" form, I can drag and drop a marketing list field on my form easily, but on form capture I have to add and/or map those fields first. I can not add a field only for a marketing list, right?
So I am thinking about to create a new option field "add to marketinglist" to my contact and map it here. There should be a workflow, which put the contact in the list after the field is selected. But that`s a very long way to do it. Do you have some easier (or common) way to add a marketinglist field to the form captured formular?
Thank you,
Regards Ferdinand
Hi Nya,
okay, I just wanted to be sure, If I missed something.
Thank you so much Nya!

Hi Ferdinand
Unfortunately, it cannot be achieved. To set up a form field, a custom field which can be mapped with the form field should be created in the Contact/ Lead entity first. You cannot add the contact into a marketing list with a custom field because there is no lookup field in N: N relationships.
If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.

Hi Nya,
yes, I used them right now. I created a form capture and on the CMS there is a "Newsletter" Field, which should add the contact to the right marketing list.
Is it possible to create a form field for a marketinglist like in the marketing form editor (but for form capture). Maybe it will work without a lot of workflows and stuff?
Thank you
Ferdinand
Hi Ferdinand,
In fact, the form fields are not just for Capture Forms, they are used in all Marketing Forms.
You can refer to the following documentation to know more about it.
Set up input fields to be used in marketing forms (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs
What’s more, you cannot add a contact into a marketing list only with an option field for the relationship between Marketing List and Contact is N: N. It means that you cannot assign a unique Marketing List to a Contact. With a workflow or flow, you can specify which list a contact needs to be on by using the id of the Marketing List.
If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.
Best Regards,
Nya
