I have a client who wants to handle  payment processing process similar to how it is in the legacy system.

Attached below is the legacy data entry screenshot to help understand how the legacy works.

Below I've annotated the data entry fields.

Would appreciate any insights, advice, etc.

Thanks.

The base Purchase Invoice entry will handle this without change.

The Purchase Invoice Number should default in when you select New, so the first thing you enter is the Vendor No. which will default in the majority of your list.

You may need to adjust the Due Date on the Header to match the Vendor's Invoice.  You can enter the Vendor's Invoice Number at that time as well.

Then you would enter the line detail, in this case the Inventory and Freight Lines.  If the Vendor has been setup properly the discounts will all calculate based on your Payment Terms setup.

You would just post the invoice after verifying the totals (system calculated) match the Vendor's Invoice.

Don't get hung-up on the sequence, as the new system is going to greatly reduce the data entry required as most of it will default in.
