    Hi,

When the debit and credit account are identical, AX usually creates an error because this would create a $0 posting, which is not supported. Your case seems to be the same. If you really need this kind of voucher then I would use two 'dummy' or statistical accounts that are not included in BS/IS. The balance on those accounts will be identical but have opposite signs so that your overall profit/loss and value will not be affected.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Dr. Ludwig Reinhard

I explain with pleasure I am working on a project in the Dominican Republic.

By tax criteria it is necessary to inform all receipts of payments abroad and their withholdings

As a solution to reflect the withholdings that are made in the payment, we set taxes on use only for visualization in the proof of payment report abroad.

For this reason I wanted to configure a Ledger Posting Groups

With the same account in Sales Tax receivable and Use Tax payable

But the system generates a warning error

Expense account and tax account on use tax cannot be identical.

    Not allowing save settings

I just wanted to know why the system doesn't allow you to set up equal accounts

But thank you very much for your prompt response and when to solve this problem I post here my solution

    Hi,

Why don't you leave the setup as before and use accounts ending 96 and 97?

If you don't like having a balance on the account that ends with 96 you can then use ledger account allocations that automatically clear those amounts and post it to the account ending 97.

Yet, this is only a workaround that will show a variance in your GL-tax reconciliation report.

Before doing that can you explain us why you want to have the same account used?

Your setup looks like a reverse charge tax setup for which you will need two separate accounts.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
