Customization of '+' button of sub grid

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

My question is this .

Can we customize the '+' add button. As in can we remove some of the Activities from the displayed list of activities or can we change the order in which they are shown ?

If not why is it that we cannot customize the '+' add button to display only the type of activities that the users use most commonly and not all of them.

Is there any workarounds for achieving this functionality?

Thanks in Advance

    Hi Anish,

You cannot customize that add button for activity. Since Activity is a single entity, it is an all or nothing behavior. If you remove the Security Role or the Customization of the add button it will be across all activities.

I don't foresee this changing in future releases, so you are kind of stuck with providing all activities.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, customizing social pane is not a feasible option at this point, you can't do changes on this in supported way at least, social pane only provide option to change default tab, sort activity types etc. If you are interested in sorting activity type you can check quick tip here: crmtipoftheday.com/.../change-the-default-order-of-activities-on-the-social-pane

    Hi Anish,

No , this is default behavior of Activity entity.

You can only  hide + button using security roles but as per my knowledge you can not hide only single item and you can not changed the order until you are not changing the name of activity type entity.

You can also hide + button using Ribbon workbench and create one custom flyout button in the activity sub-grid  using ribbon workbench and customize it.

    Hope this helps.
