Hello,
We use the Field Service and Customer Service apps to track our field service and technical support groups. Often we will have technical support calls where where our end users will have multiple issues that they are looking to resolve and it will require a trip to site to fix this issue. Our goal is to to be able to link multiple cases to an individual work order, as now you are able to only link 1 to 1.
I have attempted to create an N:N relationship in the work order entity to cases and after publishing I tried to add additional case fields in the work order form but once you enter one case it populates the other case orders.
Any ideas how to do this?
Hi astamper
May i know what is the source of your work order? is it case? are you converting case to work order ?
Assuming you are not converting case to work order:
Create a new 1:N relationship between work order and case. It means add an additional work order look-up in the case form.
Ignore the Out of the box relationship (hide those fields)
Once you added the above mentioned 1:N relationship, you will be able to add sub-grid of case in work order form
Now you can create new cases (multiple) from work order form.
Let me know if it works for you.
We are linking existing cases into new work orders. As you can see below we currently have an existing related to field where we can link single cases, but you are suggesting creating a 1:N relationship between work orders and cases. Then I need to add a work order field in the case form as well as adding additional fields for cases in this form? Do I need to edit the current subgrid to accommodate for multiple cases?
Your requirement of linking multiple cases with Single work order can be achieved by creating the 1:N relationship and adding the case subgrid in work order form.
So in the work order form do I just go ahead and add an additional case field to the work order form under my related to grid?
Because if I copy the case field in the existing grid so I have two fields when I enter a case into one it auto populates both fields.
1. Please add a "work order lookup" in case form
2. Add "case sub grid" in work order form
Did it work for you
