Connect power bi with entity store

Hello every one ,

i created an entity store and deploy it to production now it is appear in my entity sore in system admin , How can i connect my power bi desktop with this entity store ?

The built-in entity store (AxDW) can currently be accessed only via the analytical workspaces, not with Power BI Desktop.

You will be able to export the aggregate measurements in your Azure Data Lake, but this feature is planned for general availability later this year: docs.microsoft.com/.../entity-store-data-azure-data-lake-ga

Then you can connect your Power BI with your Data Lake.

Hi Ahmed,

I agree with Nikolaos.

You can not connect to the production databases.

Only D365FO application has access to the production databases.

So,The only way to connect a PowerBI to AxDW of prod environment is to use embedded PowerBI in D365FO workspaces.

HI Ahmed,

Nikolaos mentioned the data lake, but in addition,You can try to sync entities and aggregate measurements from D365FO to your own Azure database (BYODB).

To clarify what you are saying here. If an organisation has a Power BI Premium subscription and are in the process of implementing D365 F&O, a user cannot use Power BI desktop to connect directly to the D365 environment (either DEV, UAT or PROD) and make a connection with AxDW (Entity Store), is this correct?

Am I also correct in saying that a user could RDP to the D365 environment (access permitting) and use Power BI Desktop to connect to AxDW? This would be the only way to modify the Power BI embedded content? Is this correct?
