Microsoft just announced on August 25, 2026 that they are moving away from the traditional twice-a-year Release Wave model entirely. Going forward, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Dataverse features will be tracked through a continuous "AI at Work" roadmap instead. So Wave 2 2026 will essentially be the last traditional release wave announcement as we know it.
That said, Wave 2 2026 general availability is still rolling out from October 2026 as usual, with the detailed release plans expected to be published around mid-September. Early access in sandbox environments typically opens 4 to 6 weeks before the main launch, so that should be coming very soon if not already available.
