Copying text is a basic part of working with computers. Why does BC copy an entire row with the command-C keyboard command? It's ridiculous and not helpful. Why can't you use the shift key to select from the cursor's current position to another position in the string? Again, NOT HELPFUL. What could the rationale possibly be for making these ubiquitous functionalities not work in BC?

And no, you do not have to have the entire row selected to copy the entire row. The entire row is copied even when only specific text is selected.

Agree with the previous responses, If you select the entire row, the entire row will be copied. However, if you position the cursor within a specific field, only the content of that field will be copied.

If you select lines and press command /Ctrl + C, the system will copy the entire selected row.

However, if you want to copy only a specific value from a selected row, you need to select the individual field value and then use command/Ctrl + C or Select Copy option. This will copy only the selected value, not the entire row.

I've discussed this before, selecting the line first, then using Alt to select the value.

If you select the entire row, then the entire row will be copied. But if you place the cursor in a specific field or select the specific field, only that field will be copied.
