Register Production Arrival in Warehouse AX 2009

I am unsure of how to accomplish registering production arrivals in the warehouse.  Jobs are completed in production and a report as finished journal is posted via the Shop Floor Job Registration Feedback entry.  A bulk warehouse location is used on the Production Journal.  The goods are taken to the staging location of the warehouse to be put away.  The warehouse worker manually chooses a location and stores the items. 

What form / journal/ whatever?? do we use to tell Dynamics where the items were stored?

I expected to use an Item Arrival Journal but it adds the quantity to the new location so we end up with the same quantity both received and registered.  What is this process?

    Is there a way to have the shop floor system NOT post the item a Received, but rather leave it in some status that allows the Arrival Journal to work with it?

    We do use that setup in many cases, but in the problem case, the put away location is chosen by the warehouse worker.  There is no default.

    Sounds like a process change is needed then...  "A bulk warehouse location is used on the Production Journal."

    Use the put away location when reporting as finished.

    When and item transfer journal is used, the inventory transaction loses its reervation.  Items that are ordered reserved switch to ON ORDER, rather than Physical Reserved, which creates significant problems for us.  It also clutters up the inventory transaction table.  I want to be able to finish the item on the shop floor and put it away while maintaining the reservation, but not adding extra transactions.

    I assume your bulk warehouse location is a physical location setup in your system?

    Use an item transfer journal to take it from the bulk warehouse location to its new location.
