Yes. Either you create your own or buy one.
Is this still true, that an add-on is required?
Cannot do it without an add-on.
DRS makes a add-on called VIPZone that one can change columns, they also have PowerOPs for Items. http://www.digitalretailer.com/rms-add-ins
