Preventive Maintenance on vessel

Posted on by 1,240

Hi,

Is the Preventive Maintenance module in GP 10 capable of doing PMs on multiple equipments on one service call? We need to do PMs on our vessels. One vessel may contain 20-50 serialized parts which most likely have different PM schedules (3,6,24...months). Instead of generating 20-50 service calls for each PM interval (3 month), is it possible to generate one or only a few service calls for all the parts in one vessel?

Thanks,

I'm not familiar with the Wennsoft Service product - only their Job Cost product, so I can't say what issues you might run into running both Wennsoft and GP Field Service simultaneously.

    Thanks Frank.

Do you have any experiences on Wennsoft Service Management Module?

One of our concerns is the field service module we currently use must stay which means we will have to run two separate service management modules in parallel. Can you foresee any issues of doing so?

Sorry, I misread your original post.  From what I can tell, there is no way to do what you describe in GP out of the box.  I think a customization would be required.

    Thanks Frank,

But if we associate a PM Schedule ID to all these 50 serialized parts, it will end up with one service call for each part. (50 in total). I know GP 10 will combine PM events for the same serialized part into one service call. But it is still not good enough for us.

    Any suggestions?

Yes, it is.  You define a PM Schedule for the vessel that includes all the items that need PM'd.  Each item has a PM Schedule ID associated with it that defines the frequency and timing of the PM activity.  The system automatically selects the items due for PM based on this schedule and the date of the service call.

    Hope this helps,
