Baseline Forecast reduced by Actual Demand?

Posted on by 5

When creating a statistical baseline forecast in AX 2012, I set the baseline forecast start date to the beginning of the month I am currently in (example: Today is 5/25/2023, baseline forecast start date set to 5/1/2023). I set the forecast period for 6 Months in Monthly buckets.

After the baseline forecast was generated, I pulled in the "Actual Demand" field into the Pivot table.

When looking at the current month's (May 2023) actual demand and forecasted quantity, there was actual demand listed from this month. I was wondering if the forecasted quantity for May 2023 would be reduced by the quantity in the actual demand field, or if the forecasted quantity stays as is, regardless of the sales order/actual demand?

Thanks for the help in advance!
