Subgrids are not Editable

Posted on by 15

Subgrids with Editable Grids are not rendering as editable.

Things I've checked / tried:

  • Legacy Form Rendering on or off - no change even when I:
    • Ctrl-F5 refreshed the page
    • logged in as a new user in a new browser.
  • Chrome and Edge, both regular and Incognito/InPrivate browsing.
  • Different user accounts.
  • Have checked Editable Grid settings at the Entity and the View level
    • Editable Grid is a control I can add at the Entity level EDIT: and have added, enabling for Web and Tablet
    • Editable Grid is NOT a control I can add at the View level
    • Editable Grid IS a control I can add to the subgrid on a form EDIT: and have added, enabling for Web and Tablet
  • Editable grids work at the View level in my model-driven application
  • Editable grids do NOT work in SubGrids - they always show as Read-Only

This is super frustrating because I'm researching this for a client that wants to be able to edit on the forms as much as possible. Does anyone have any new ideas I might not have tried?

Thank you!

Yes, I had stated that in my original post. I have checked all the places Editable Grid toggles live.

    Hi AvalonInk,

Please check the objects of Editable Grid in both environments.

There are two places to set Editable Grid, one is the sub-grid in the form, and the other is the entity.

UPDATE: We've discovered that the editable subgrids do render properly in the client environment, but not in ours. All of the above settings are the same in both environments, however, Editable Grids ARE able to be selected on views in the client environment, but are NOT able to be selected on views in ours.

It seems like there must be an environment setting that is preventing our environment from using Editable Grids properly - what might that setting be?

    Thank you!

    That is correct.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your query.

As far as I understand, you have already enabled editable grid control for the web and phone?

    Please confirm.
