Customer Ledger Entries - Edit in Excel no longer working

Posted on by 46
Hi there,

BC Version:  NL Business Central 24.3 (Platform 24.0.22619.0 + Application 24.3.21374.21517)

We are now getting this when we click Edit in Excel for the Customer Ledger Entries

Ledger Entry tables are Read Only, as they should be...
You can import them in Power BI, Excel,... ad change the data in Excel, but not sync the changes back to BC.

    Hi @Yun Zhu / Valentin
If that's the case why does the edit in excel work fine for Vendor Ledger Entries (another posted table)?

Valentin - the editable fields like Open should be allowed via Edit in Excel (in a similar manner to Vendor Ledger Entries) - I believe this is a bug introduced the recent BC updates from 24.1 onwards

Valentin is right. Tables with Editable property set to false cannot be edited in Edit in Excel. Please do not use this function on Posted Tables.

    Thanks.

I would ensure you have the correct permissions in BC to use the edit in excel function, and also log out and then login again in the excel data connector pane.

Also, can I confirm why you're using the edit in excel function for the customer ledger entries page? This page is not editable except for some fields, what fields are you trying to edit? Perhaps open in excel can work better?
