Quality Management in Version 28

Hello,

My Production environment is on Version 27.

I've updated my sandbox environment to Version 28, but the Quality Management features don't seem to be present.
^Per the above link, "The extension installs automatically on newly deployed environments. For upgraded environments, you can install the extension from AppSource."

Since I upgraded my sandbox environment from Version 27, it seems I need to install the extension through AppSource.
When I navigate to the "Microsoft AppSource apps" page, then select "Quality Management" with Publisher Name "Microsoft" and click "Install App", I get the following message:

Why is the system saying this for an app published by Microsoft?
I have the same question (0)

During installation, some environments may show a generic AppSource warning message. Before proceeding, verify that the selected app has Publisher Name = Microsoft and Publisher Type = Microsoft.

    Hello,

What you see is normal, no problem with your environment.

That "third-party publisher and not Microsoft" message is just a generic dialog. Business Central shows the exact same text for every app installed from AppSource, no matter who the publisher is. The system does not change the wording based on the publisher name, so even genuine Microsoft first-party apps like Quality Management trigger it. So it does not mean the app is not really from Microsoft.

The reason you must install it by hand is the part you already found in the docs: Quality Management ships automatically only on newly deployed environments. On upgraded ones (your V27 to V28) it is not pulled in, so you install it manually from AppSource, and that path always shows this confirmation.

You can safely proceed. Just check the publisher shows as Microsoft and the name is Quality Management, then continue.

    Hi, hope the following helps.
Dynamics 365 Business Central: Newly added standard extensions missing in upgraded environments (Uninstalled apps will now remain uninstalled)
    Extension id: bc7b3891-f61b-4883-bbb3-384cdef88bec

    Thanks.

    Hello,
That message is confusing, but it looks like a generic install warning for Marketplace extensions, not proof that the app is actually from a non-Microsoft publisher. Microsoft’s own docs say Quality Management is a Microsoft-published extension, installs automatically only on new environments, and for existing/upgraded environments you install it from Extension Management / Microsoft Marketplace. I’d double-check you selected the app with Publisher Microsoft and the Marketplace listing for bc_qualitymanagement, then proceed in sandbox; if your tenant policy blocks “third-party” AppSource installs, your admin may still need to allow the install even though the app is Microsoft-published. After install, search for Quality Management Setup and assign any required permissions.
