Dynamic 365 email notification

Hi,

Am fairly new to the CRM environment, am trying out the email notification workflow when a case is submitted via the Dynamic 365 portal. 

when a case is submitted no owner is assigned and by default system becomes the owner of the case created, now, I want to send an email notification to the user of the portal and to the others (via a shared email group) notifying about the new case. 

How do I do this? we basically use outlook for out internal mail communication. hence I tried to setup pop3/smtp server in the Dynamic 365. but am getting an error saying that the server location is not supported. I tried setting the pop/smtp with my personal Gmail and it worked a charm. can you please let me know how do I configure the outlook email for this purpose.

    @Syed,

    He wants to send the email notification from workflow & for that he need either server-side sync or email router so that mailboxes can be approved and activated on Dynamics 365 CRM

    Dynamics 365 App for outlook will not help him achieve this functionality

    Please try to Use dynamics 365 App for outlook. email router will be depreciated soon. Follow the below link to setup

    Hi,

    Kindly follow the URL mentioned below to find out the supported email exchange servers with Dynamics 365 CRM module

    technet.microsoft.com/.../dn531050.aspx

    if you are using any other email exchange server apart from the mentioned in above URL then you can't use server side sync option & will have to opt for an Email Router option

    Note: Email Router is deprecated & Microsoft will stop the support of this method soon

    What kind of email server do you have in your local office? Is it configured for POP/SMTP or is this a different server configured for other protocol such as IMAP?
