CRM 2016 on prem and I am seeing that the auditing is stopping at random. All the fields are marked to be audited, but when I go into an opportunity record and go to audit history, it is blank and it says no auditing records found. The was a change made to this record recently and it should have captured that.
Can anyone shed some light as to why this is happening?

This happens off and on. It has happened after I deploy a solution, but I have since made sure to check the box to include metadata, just like your link suggested. Now, it is happening while I am not deploying anything and the audit is turning off for some reason. We don't have any workflows that turn auditing off.
Hi,
does this happen after you deploy a solution? You can take a look below post.
I checked the auditing tab and the start auditing and audit user access were checked already, along with common entities under the Enable Auditing in the following areas.
In CRM you need to enable auditing three places.
1. Organization level
2. Entity Level
3. Attribute level.
if Organization level is auditing disabled and entity & attribute level is enabled, CRM will not audit data.. make sure you have organisation level auditing enabled

Hope this will help..
