CRM 2016 Default Import Record Fail

Posted on by 195

Hi guys,

I have an issue regarding default data import with CRM 2016 on premise.

Scenario:

1. Select and export existing record from contact in excel format.

2. Update existing record from excel eg. number of employee from 10 to 20 (not yet import back to CRM)

3. Another CRM user guys update from CRM with the number of employee from 10 to 30

4. I then import the excel back to CRM and hit this error:

Error: You cannot import data to this record because the record was updated in Microsoft Dynamics CRM after it was exported.

Column Heading: (Do Not Modify) Modified On

Question: Do we have any walk around for this issue as in we cannot update record from both different source.

Remark: This scenario might happen in future too, one time data fixing might not able to help in coming future.

Please help.

Thank You.

would like to double confirm, this is one way sync which is from CRM to excel but not excel to CRM, correct me if i am wrong.

By using dynamics worksheet, i can always refresh to get latest changes from CRM, and the changes i had amended in excel will be overwritten.

    Am i right ?

    Thank You

    HI ,

Have you tried to export the data in Dynamic worksheet instead of Static .

During that time it will always sync with the existing data in CRM whenever you are opening the excel to modify .

    Thanks !
