Does anybody out there have an idea how to fix this problem?
We have over one hundred users of Solomon 6.5 Business Portal. Many of them cannot use the IE browser on their own systems to create new or view existing timecards or expense reports. When they click the "New" button or click on the link to an existing document, nothing happens; whereas, normally the right side frame/window gets populated with the new or existing T&E document.
The users access the Solomon BP using IE 8, but some perhaps are still using IE 7. The version of IE seems to have nothing to do with the problem. Mostly, I don't have the time to do much checking on the user's setups; instead, I direct them to our workaround of having them RDP to a server on which the IE browser works for creating new and viewing existing T&E documents in the Business Portal. However, several times I have gone through the users' IE security zone settings, ensured that their settings were in accordance with the setup guidelines in the Solomon Business Portal online help, and still the problem persisted.
It seems as though many if not all of the users who are receiving new systems have this problem, so the issue seems to be embedded into our new system images or setup process. The problem also crops up on existing systems, where the user has been using IE on his or her own system successfully to do T&E reporting in Business Portal and then "suddenly" he or she cannot. At least one of the users claims an IT person checked and couldn't find where any updates, upgrades, patches, etc., or new software, was installed on the system between the last time it worked and when it stopped working, although, I am not sure that this information is accurate. A couple of the cases cropped up when the users installed .NET 3.5 on their systems, yet I am pretty sure that not all of the people with the problem installed .NET 3.5 on their systems.
So again, if you know of this problem and know how to fix it, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks!
