I am trying to figure out if Management Reporter can cater to having Analytical Accounting & GL (General Ledger) Accounts in the same Report.
in FRx we couldn't , we could either choose GL or AA.
plus i am having a hard time locating Documentation or install on the Management Reporter tool

How do I configure my company in management reporter 2012. such that I can get AA(Analytical Accounting) dimensions when am linking my account in Management reporter?

I am now in the process of building my rows in FRx.
In the Row Format (column H - Link to GL) When i select GL accounts , it is NOT an issue, or when i select a dimension code attached to a GL directly, it is NOT an issue either, both of them return results in my report perfectly well,
But my issue is when i select dimension code on its own(without a GL besides it), it is not returning any data in the report, although i do have records for the selected code and that specific period.
(i noticed something else, that every time i go back to the specific row that contain a dimension code on its own, the "Acct Segment" goes back to "Natural" , instead of the dimension that i selected it from )
I deployed service pack 9 with the AA add-in , thinking that maybe this was the issue
i am wondering if i am missing something something

As for your question about the guides to installation of MR and training, everything is available thru the Customer Source portal : mbs.microsoft.com/.../mroverview.htm
For the training guide of MR 2.0 (not 2012), search for the course 80255A in Customer Source. You should be able to download the course material in PDF format (about 300 pages). It doesn't touches AA unfortunately...

Yes you can, you will be allowed to use codes behind accounts in rows as per your needs.

my issue in the report that i am trying to create, i have AA dimension codes in some lines, and for other lines, i just have GL accounts (with no AA codes). Is this possible?

Welcome to the community, hope that you finds your answers here.
Actually both FRx and Management reporter could integrate Analytical Accounting and generate GL Accounts and AA Codes in the same Report.
Take a look into the following article in my blog that details the process of installing the AA for FRx and note that the AA installs automatically with Management Reporter, you just need to import your company followed by AA during the company import:
