Outlook Error Message linked to CRM Addin

Hello,

in my company we are using CRM Dynamics 2015 on premise and the associated Outlook plugin.

We use Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 that Run on WYSE.

One of our collegue get the below error when he want to create a new email.

Does someone has an idea of what is the cause and how to resolve it?

    Hi Confide,

    Yes if I go to Accounts->More Settings--> Outlook Data File Settings I point to an .ost file.

    What does it mean to run in a cached mode being online? I don't understand this two concepts and why pointing to a .ost file could cause the error?

    Hi,

    If it is not checked, it seems like you are running in online mode.

    You can read the requirements here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3018360/compatibility-with-microsoft-dynamics-crm-2015

    You can also see under file - accounts - data files if the mail account points to an .ost-file or just says connected.

    If it points to an ost-file you're probably in cached mode, connected in online-mode.

    If you speak about the "use Cached Excchange Mode" in the Server Settings, it's not checked.

    Hi,

    Are you running outlook in cached mode?

    The CRM addin only supports cached mode officially. We saw alot of weird problems running in online mode (exchange).

    Hi Anupam,

    Simply restarting Outlook resolve the problem. But I would like to understand the root and fix it once for all.

    I also resintalled everything:

    Remove the connector and reinstall it

    Clean the Cache of the user

    But came back some days after.

    Seems that it occurs quite ofter (around 1 by day)

    Hi Fed,

    Have you tried by Uninstalling Dynamics CRM connector for outlook & re-install it again.

    It looks some services stopped working for Dynamics CRM connector.

    Let me know after this you still faces this.

    Hello Anupam,

    Currently only one user is facing the issue. But is not the first time he get the error.

    Seems that closing outlook and reopen it resolve the problem temporary.
