Send PDF Attachment to Distribution List

Dear Community,

What is the best way to send a PDF attachment to a Distribution List?

On the list are people who, because of the security requirements of their employers, cannot open links in emails.

So far when I create an email template, the default form does not include attachments.

Also,

- I understand it is not possible to send Attachments with the Email Marking feature of the Marketing App

- I understand it is not possible to access Distribution Lists in Outlook, where I could send such a message.

Hi thurs72,

The purpose of the email template is to send emails of the same content directly to many contacts.

So if each contact's email attachment is different, then the email template is not suitable.

You could refer to this post and this post.

You need to code it yourself or use third party software.

This third-party software should be able to meet your needs. (This is not a Microsoft application, we cannot guarantee its security and does not provide support for it.)

In addition, do you have the subscription of Microsoft Flow? If you have it, you could try to use Flow to solve this problem.

Thank you both!

I now understand how to work with the email template.

This means that if we regularly need to send out attachments to a Distribution List, we would need to create a separate email template for each mailing, since each time I am attaching a different file?

Workflow = (1) go to Settings, create the email template, attach PDF (2) create & distribute Campaign Activity Email

Any possible way that you can think of to make this easier? I'm open to any 3rd party solutions...

Since the attachments are created in SharePoint, is it possible to set a location in SharePoint for all email template attachments?

Hi thurs72,

If you need to send an email template with PDF attachment, then the email template has this feature.

As mentioned above, when you create an email template, you must save it before you can add attachments. You cannot add attachments before saving.

1) Click the New button on the email template interface. Then select Template Type and click OK.

2) Enter Title, Subject, body content.(You cannot add attachments at this time.) Click the Save button.

3) After saving, the Add Attachment feature opens and you can add PDF attachments.

You should be able to add attachments to the email template, you'll have to do a save first. Once saved, you may have to scroll down but there is a "New Attachment" button as below
