other than creating 2 different 401k ded/ben codes for <50 vs >50 employees, is there any other work around for when the max changes? my client has not been rolling down the change because it changes the max on all employees.

I have created the deductions just as you have listed for those under and over 50, I have not found any other way to do it without updating each record as you noted. Easier to do two roll downs versus changing hundreds I guess is my thought.
