Hi all,

I custom have a custom page that I have exposed as a soap web service. The number field (primary key) is on attached to number series and the next number is triggered when the description is entered. When I POST my request through a client request tool, I get the below error that's refering to No field.

<s:Envelope xmlns:s="">schemas.xmlsoap.org/.../">

    <s:Body>

        <s:Fault>

            <faultcode xmlns:a="urn:microsoft-dynamics-schemas/error">a:Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.Types.Exceptions.NavCSideException</faultcode>

            <faultstring xml:lang="en-US">The No field on the Payment Header table cannot be renamed to "".</faultstring>

            <detail>

                <string xmlns="">schemas.microsoft.com/.../">The No field on the Payment Header table cannot be renamed to "".</string>

            </detail>

        </s:Fault>

    </s:Body>

</s:Envelope>

what should I put for it to allow me to enter my own number despite the fact that its attached to number series?. I have checked the manual check box on the number series without any success?

    Can you send us the code that you have on the description field where you assigning the No. field value, you should assign No. field in the OnInsert Trigger not in the Description Field and also you need to make sure you are doing that only when No. is blank. Please check the standard tables like the customer, item... and try to use the same logic.
