Hello All Experts,

2. I have installed Microsoft Powerapps office Addin in the Excel.

This Addin is working with online crm and common data service.

Requirement:-

By Any chance is there any replacement addin or something else that can be utilized with excel and connect smoothly with MSCRM on premise.

It will definitely be helpfull if anything that can connect with MSCRM onpremise from within office excel.

I have tried to connect onpremise mscrm but i am getting an error to this.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

    Thank you for your query.

Depending in your needs, you can try following:

    • Dynamic Worksheets: use these to refresh the data from Dynamics 365 automatically.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customerengagement/on-premises/basics/export-excel-dynamic-worksheet#export-data-to-an-excel-dynamic-worksheet

    • Get Data from SQL Server: use Excel to directly connect with CRM Organization Database:
      • Open Excel, go to  Data -> Get Date -> From Databases -> From SQL Server Database:

    • Enter Databases Server and Database details, and click OK:

    • You will be presented with List of Tables, choose the Tables/Views you are interest in and click on Load:

    • You can also user Power Query to edit the queries:

RE: Crm Onpremise 2016 and Microsoft Powerapps office Addin

    Hello Wahaj Rashid,

Actually user needs the simple approach and not the complicated approach.

They simply want to manipulate the data and i think this option of Microsoft Appsource Office Addin is best suitable.

Regarding connecting to directly database will lead to some discrepancy because when from entering data to crm using the above addin there are some plugins and workflows which needs to get run .

it will really be helpfull if we could get some sort of add-ins w.r.t above i mentioned.

Also for dynamic excel generation users donot want to touch the CRM system  rather they want to work from within the CRM system.
