Views: who can see what

Hello,

I've just joined a new company that uses Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Loads of views have been created before I arrive and I need to know which users get access to which views.

For instance, I'm in charge of sharing existing views to some new employees but I don't know if all views are useful for the new colleage.

So, for the moment, I open EACH view and I check if one his colleagues in the same department gets an access to the view. I f yes, I share to the new colleague, too

= lost of time

Is there any solution to export list of users + lists of the views they can see?

I have the same question (0)

I'd ask this question in the Dynamics CRM forum as they may be able to better answer this question, as this is the Dynamics GP forum.

I can tell you how to determine what users have access to which views in Dynamics GP, but not much help with Dynamics CRM.

That being said, there may be others in this forum that work with both CRM and GP and can answer this as well.

In Dynamics GP , users would get access to SQL views via the security roles and tasks assigned to them, but the permissions aren't to the specific tables or views, more so windows and reports, using stored procedures and statements to pull the information from selected views and tables, so there isn't a way to look at the GP view and see a list of users that have access to it, as Dynamics GP uses a DYNGRP database role for permissions to the view, so you'll see that role, not the list of GP users.

    Thanks

    Hi

Are you talking about about personal views? Because I don't think System Views in CRM can be role specific.

For personal views, may be you can create teams and assign the roles to the respective teams. Whenever a new user joins in, you can just add the user to the team with which you have shared the view.
