What is the usage of the /Refresh planning lines/ function on the planning worksheet?

If we have sub-assemblies (production BOMS) for a maser item, and we filter the master item on Calculate Plan - Plan. Wksh. window, will the system suggest orders for sub-assemblies of that item?

Ex :-

Maser item - FG

Master item BOM - RM 1

RM 2

RM 1 BOM - RM 1.1

RM 1.2

Suppose we filter FG (master item) on Calculate Plan - Plan. Wksh. window, will the system suggest orders for RM 1 and RM 2?

Refresh planning lines - planning worksheet

If you filter to a specific Item (the FG Item), the system will only give suggestions for that Item. If you are testing a simplified scenario, you can use the | in your filter as an OR, which would give suggestions for your FG|RM 1|RM 2 Items. When I am testing, I like to use a specific Item Category and filter to that so I can include a lot of Items.

In practical use, you want to minimize the filtering applied when calculating a plan. That being said, I think the Item Category Code is a great way to filter if people (i.e. planning batches) are responsible for different types of Items.
