Developer access to Remote Assist & Teams

Hello,

As we are collaborating with a big Industry, we are in need of a way to customize the User Interface of the remote assist app in Hololens and the Teams app. Is there a way to add a custom theme?

Furthermore, as a developper what kind of options and functionalities do I have access to? Can I add another layer of development on top of the basic communication functionality?

Hello,

At this time the short answer is no. In-app extensibility is on our radar, but not something we support at the moment.

There are a couple of exceptions to the answer:

For Dynamics 365 Field Service integration, the Remote Assist “View” allows you to customize what fields, and in what order, the booking shows up in app.

We support protocol activation (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/mixed-reality/remote-assist/protocol-activation) and background streaming so that other custom apps on the device can leverage much of the Remote Assist communication functionality within this custom application.
