assign record error

Hi ,

suppose i have one parent business unit :Parent  and below this BU I have  a lot of other BU's: sales,marketing,IT & under those Bu's i have pther Bu's:sales 1,sales 2,sales 3 (sales),marketing 1,marketing 2 (marketing) 

for each BU ,i have teams & users .

so suppose this case , i have a record owned by a user who's in the bu marketing(let's said he's in the default team marketing ) , now i need to assign this record to a user who's in the bu :sales 1 (default team sales 1) .

It's possible?

    Hi David,

      there is probably a duplicate detection rule that has Owning Business Unit as one of the conditions. For example, it might be verifying a particular field, but only if two records belong to the same BU.

    hello Alex ,

    I check the(1-N-Parental) relationships of my entity (account),& indeed i just find the problem.

    when i remove the parental relationship between my account & the other entity(order),and i replace it with a cascading realtionship with "cascade none" option when assigning the account,the problem is gone.

    but i did not understand  why there's a duplicate in the order when it's re-assigned?

    i just check out , & there is no duplicate detection rule published.

    but the record i'am trying to assign has a parent record.

    Do you have any parental relationship from that entity to others?

    If there are child entities which are getting reassigned in the process, you might need to check duplicate detection rules for those, too.

    Yes , I checked that ,but all duplicate detection rule for this entity type are unpublished.

    I would check duplicate detection rules for that entity type.. It seems that, somehow, they are configured "per BU" (exact match for the owning business unit?), and there might be a duplicate in the new BU.. so, when trying to move that record to that BU, you end up with a duplicate error

    Hi Alex ,

    the error is that i have a duplicate record when i try to assign a record which is owned by the BU(marketing) to a new owner who's in the the BU sales 1 (under BU sales),but when i change the user to the BU sales it works,any Idea?

    Hi,

     you can assign records to anyone in the system as long as those users/teams have required roles. What error are you getting and which record are you assigning (some assignments may cascade to other records through the relationships)
