Is there a way to input projects from excel to Business Central via Power Automate and assign different project managers?

Hi,

We are currently migrating to Business Central and have a list of our current projects that our resources are assigned to in an excel file. These have different project managers and executives that we'd like to import into Business Central Via Power Automate? Is this possible? Currently we can only import the code and the description of the project through automate and the managers get automatically assigned to me which isn't what we want.

Many thanks

The BC connector for power automate is stripped back for projects. Power automate is still an option but I’ll describe a more standard one first.

Check out configuration packages. If your data is already in excel then this is a good approach. If you’re migrating data anyway I’m sure you used this already. If not then use this resource: docs.microsoft.com/.../admin-how-to-prepare-a-configuration-package

If power automate must be used then look at the web services page in BC. Add the job card as page and publish it. This can then be used with the HTTP connector in power automate to pass the data from the excel connector. With this method you can pass more fields than the standard BC connector. Just have to verify if you’re licensed to use that connector. Depends on your O365 license. Also consider that per day, with most licenses, you can make 5000 api calls per 24 hours per user. So if you have a lot of data data to migrate this might not be a valid choice.
