Field Behavior

Posted on by 5

I have created a prospecting process that has 10 stages. When a new lead is entered, an initial task is created with the "Prospecting Stage" field set to "Prospecting Stage 1. The Lead record which contains the same field "Prospecting Stage" is updated/

The task contains a field titled "Interaction Result". There are 11 options that can be chosen. When one of the options is selected, it updates the task (obviously) and the Lead record which has the same "Interaction Result" field.

Once the "Interaction Result" field is updated, the task can be designated as "Completed"

Once the task is "Completed" a new task is created with the next step in the process.

My difficulty is that I can't figure out how to get the "Prospecting Stage" field to advance to "Prospecting Stage 2"

I have created some Child Processes and duplicated those for each of the 10 stages. But, when I change the "Prospecting Stage" field in one, it changes them in all 10 stages to the same stage number.

Is there a way to have each of the "Prospecting Stage" fields be static? Is there a way to disconnect the "Prospecting Stage" field in one stage to the "Prospecting Stage " fields in the other stages?

Is there a field rule that I have missed?

Anyone's help would be greatly appreciated. I have spent 4 days trying to make this work.

Thanks,

David Whitehead
