no standard cost has been set for this item. do you want to use zero cost in its transactions

Posted on by

When entering an item transaction entry for an item that does not have a cost assigned, we get this message.  It's more annoying that anything.  How can we prevent this message?  "no standard cost has been set for this item. do you want to use zero cost in its transactions"

I am not sure.   At one client, we changed the decimal places to 5 and put in .00001 as the std and made sure none of the items would be used in qty's more than 1000 so it would not cause any GL entry.   Only suggestion I have.
