Grid lookup

Hi everyone,

I've created a simple table with only three columns (id, value, comment). I would like to add to the grid of an existing form so that it can be clicked on to bring a drop down with only the id and value as a lookup. Can anyone help provide the steps to accomplish this?

Thank you in advance for any help offered.

    Hi DHeisman,

Create a relationship between the table you have created and the table with the existing grid form.

in your table there is a field group AutoLookup , add id and value field in that group and see , on the lookup you will get these two fields....

    RE: Grid lookup

    Hello Robert, hello Anil,

Thank you for your suggestions but neither have worked. I've also attempted to use a lookup() in the form control, and although a drop down arrow icon shows in the grid control column, it doesn't have any data once the icon is clicked.

Also worth noting is I have three test entries in my new table. When I add the field to the grid on the form, I see all three values listed (e.g., value 1 in row 1, value 2 in row 2, etc).

I'm now wondering if my table is built properly with all the necessary properties set correctly.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Robert,

I believe I've finally got it to work properly. I ended up having work through the Extended Data Type and referenced my new table. Then adding the fields to the Autolookup field group pretty much got me there.

Thanks so much for your help.
