Dynamics GP Utilities fails with GetDictionaryVersion Error

Posted on by 45

Dynamics Gp is running on Windows 2008 server with SQL 2008 as the Database.

Three clients are working successfully.

4th client had to be reconfigured and is now getting this error when attempting to launch Dynamic Gp Utilities.  Since it will not run, the Dynamics Client fails to launch.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated...

    Bwells,

based on the infromation you have provided, sounds like the version of GP Client that is loaded doesn't match the installed versions on the SQL Server.  After logging into the DynUtils, we retrieve the version information from the DYNAMICS..DU000020 table and compare that information to the dictionary version installed within the local client you are using.

Not sure what you mean by reconfigure the 4th client, but you need to make sure that the same service pack is applied to that 4th client and matches what has been deployed to SQL.  You can find the version mis-match information within the GP Client folder\Data\duinstall.log.  This file will confirm for you if the versions do not match.

    Thanks!
