Microsoft SL - Checks Did not post to GL

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Were using Microsoft Dynamics SL

Can you please help me figure this out.

Checks #946117 – 946120 did not post to GL.

I have checked the following:

Vendor History - Yes

Check Register - Yes

GL Account History Detail - Batch 01419 is not listed

Any idea of how to retrieve this batch to post?

    Deborah,

If you are not seeing the AP batch on the Journal Entry screen when enabling initialize mode and changing the module to AP but you are able to see the batch activity on the AP side then one of two things exist.  Either, someone used initialize mode to delete the batch on the journal entry screen (which does not delete the AP documents or transactions on the AP side) or the batch had zero effect on the GL (e.g,, the checks were all zero amount checks).  If the batch was incorrectly deleted, there is no way to get it back and you would have to create a JE batch corresponding to the activity the checks had on AP Trade and Cash in bank.  I believe there is another piece to this puzzle if neither of the above are true.

Hi Rick,  Thanks for your reply.  I did the steps above and I'm still not able to see it on the GL side and it has not posted to the GL.  Is there any other suggestions?  The posting period was for the current month.

Deborah, if you have rights to Initialize Mode, turn it on, open the GL journal entry screen, change the module to AP and enter that batch number (what you indicated in this post is short 1 digit as batch numbers should be 6 digits) and see if the screen finds that batch.  If it does, check the status of the batch and the posting period.  If the posting period is beyond where GL is currently opened then that would be why you do not see it on the GL side.  If it is the same posting period, check the post transactions screen to see if the batch has been posted to GL yet.

I've tried several times but it reverts back to this group.  Sorry if I inconvenienced you.
