Correcting an Invoice

We're running BC 17.1 SaaS. When we correct an invoice from a fully shipped and invoiced sales order, the system is supposed generate a CM, apply it to the posted invoice, and generate a new invoice.

Instead it's giving us this prompt:

Is this a setting we can turn off somewhere? Our users are not trained on how to do this.

    Hi,

Yes, its something new that come with v 17.1 SaaS. If an Invoice is posted from Sales Order(that is completely shipped and Invoiced) then this prompt come and it will perform the same action that cancel do. It cancels this Invoice by a Cr. Memo and mark this as cancelled but not create a new Invoice.

If the sales order is partially shipped and Invoiced then it shows this message.

You can train you users from how to copy document. The reason for this feature might be that we can have multiple Invoices created from a single order.

As far as I could find, this new process is not covered anywhere in the BC documentation covering Correcting and Cancelling invoices: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/sales-how-correct-cancel-sales-invoice

It's concerning that a core business process would suddenly change overnight with no warning like this did. I would think something like this is best released via feature management where we get the option to turn this on if that's the behavior we desire.

    Hi Drew,

Yes you are right. I have read version 17.1 release documentation and not found anything relevant to this.
