We are faced with a scenario where the attached storage to the F&O environment has hundreds of empty blob storage containers.
Azure Storage Blob Containers Example
We would like to cleanup those containers as they are starting to annoy the Administrator. A few containers are used by an ISV solution but due to the amount of containers he has to scroll endlessly through the pages of empty containers.
Before we start to make a solution to remove the containers I first would like to know the questions below. I've multiple people but none of them seems to either know what they are for, what process creates these containers and if there is a job to clean those containers.
I suspect they are created to create a temp location to which documents are created and from which they are shared.
The questions i have:
- Does anyone know what they are for?
- Can they be removed or is there a process depended on those containers?
- Is there a standard job form within FinOps for this?
Thanks in advance for the help!
