Modify Computer Checks Posting Journal

Posted on by

Is it possible to modify or remove the "General Ledger Distributions" and "Applied to Check" sections of the Computer Checks Posting Journal?  These sections appear to print based on one set of calculated fields.

Has anyone accomplished this before?

Thanks,

Andrew

No, I believe both items are in calculated fields in the body. You can use one of Victoria Yudin's views to get the Applied To information after the fact, but you cannot get it on the Computer Checks Posting Journal.

    Hi Leslie,

Thank you for the reply.  Taking this a step further, it is possible to suppress the "General Ledger Distributions" section but NOT the  "Applied to Check" section?

    Yes,

You need to suppress the body of the report. I would create a calculated field named 'Suppress Body' set its value to a constant of zero, open the Report Section Options window and check the box under the body 'Suppress When Field is Empty' and then put your newly created calculated field in the box. I suppose you could also uncheck the Body box, but I prefer to take a less radical approach in the event you ever want the body back.

Your Computer Checks posting journal will only print the check number, amount, date, vendor and messages, if any.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
